Watch Authentication Tool — Thai Watch Market
This tool is for buyers and owners who need to:
- Pre-purchase verification — verify before payment
- Gift or inheritance verification — uncertain about authenticity
- Pre-sale or insurance verification — need confidence before selling or insuring
Authentication is a free service from Thai Watch Market — send photos via LINE, receive initial assessment within 30 minutes.
Three Authentication Levels
Level 1: Photo-based pre-check (free, 30 minutes)
Send six photos via LINE:
- Dial — straight, even lighting
- Case back — serial + reference visible
- Crown — side view
- Movement — through sapphire caseback if available, or after opening at workshop
- Bracelet end-link — fit to case
- Warranty card — if present
The expert checks 12 photo-verifiable points:
- Crown logo — proportion + symmetry
- Dial typography — matching the year Rolex/Patek used that font
- Rehaut engraving (Rolex post-2008)
- Serial number consistency
- Caliber visible parts (rotor signature, finishing)
- Bezel insert (aluminum vs ceramic, engraving depth)
- Hands proportion
- Cyclops magnification
- Bracelet end-link fit
- Warranty card font + stamping
Level 2: In-person inspection (฿1,800 or free if buying/selling with us)
We travel to your home, condo, or office in 12 Bangkok districts (Thonglor, Sukhumvit, Asoke, Phrom Phong, Silom, Sathorn, Rama 9, Lat Phrao, Ekkamai, Phayathai, Pinklao, Chaengwattana).
Equipment used:
- 60× macro loupe — for dial detail, hands lume, bezel insert
- Timegrapher — measures caliber accuracy, beat rate
- UV flashlight — tritium vs Luminova lume verification
- Caliper — case dimension measurement
- Magnetic field tester — anti-magnetic spec verification
Inspection takes 30–45 minutes with written report.
Level 3: Workshop deep authentication (฿4,500)
For references where Level 2 still raises doubt, we send to workshop for:
- Case back opening — caliber, parts, finishing inspection
- Rotor removal — caliber serial matching
- Dial removal — dial backside markings (red flag if service replacement not disclosed)
- X-ray microcomputed tomography — for vintage Rolex and pre-1980 Patek (e.g., Bangkok Sapphire Lab)
4–8 page report with photos and recommendations.

Common User Scenarios
"MBK seller said this Rolex is genuine for ฿8,000"
Outcome 99% of the time: Fake. These use ETA-modified movements, Asia bezels, printed dials (not applique) — immediately verifiable from a single photo.
"Pantip seller offering Submariner for ฿250,000 as new"
Common outcome: Could be authentic without papers, grey-market import, or high-grade 1:1 fake (with caliber 3235 replica). Requires in-person inspection.
"Gift from overseas — not sure"
Common outcome: Usually authentic with overseas-AD warranty (normally not a problem) — we verify and advise on service + insurance.
