Cartier Santos Prices, Every Reference — October 2026

The current Santos de Cartier launched in 2018. It comes in two main sizes, Large at 39.8mm and Medium at 35.1mm, both with the automatic 1847 MC, in steel, black ADLC-coated steel, two-tone and gold. Used prices follow size and material first. Dial colour matters less than most people expect.

Every row is an estimate, not a Bangkok clearing price. The figures come from US and international market values and auction results, converted at 32.5 THB to the dollar and rounded to the nearest ฿5,000. The WSSA0018 has the most data behind it: WatchCharts, Loupe and 5D Watches put its market value within 5% of each other, and the top of its range is set by US dealer asking prices.

† Only two independent sources, and they sit very close together, so the range shown is narrower than the real one. A clean full set can sell above it.

‡ The blue and black dials use the same case as the WSSA0018. Loupe's market values on 15 October 2026 were $6,622 (WSSA0030) and $7,039 (WSSA0037), against $6,843 for the silver dial. We don't yet have a second source to give them their own range.

Bangkok shop prices aren't far from the international figures. Radium Watch, for example, lists a 2021 Santos Large with a blue dial at ฿228,000 (an asking price, not a clearing price, seen on 15 October 2026).

Which Santos, and Why the Prices Differ

Large or Medium. Cartier Thailand retail is ฿300,000 for the WSSA0018 and ฿274,000 for the WSSA0029. Both keep about 77% of Thai retail on the used market, so the gap between the two sizes shrinks to about ฿20,000. The Medium runs the same automatic 1847 MC as the Large; it is not a quartz watch. The Large measures 47.5mm lug to lug and the Medium 41.9mm, so if you have a small wrist, try both before deciding. For resale, the Large moves faster: Loupe recorded 50 WSSA0018 sales in 30 days against 34 for the WSSA0029.

Dial colour. Silver, blue, black and green share the same case and movement, and their market values sit a few hundred dollars apart. Pick the one you like. Dial colour doesn't decide resale.

Black ADLC (WSSA0039). US retail is about $650 above the WSSA0018 according to 5D Watches, and on the used market its median is still about ฿15,000 higher than the steel watch. The catch: a deep scratch in the coating can't be polished out the way bare steel can. A watch with scuffs on the bezel or case corners that show steel underneath will fall clearly below the table.

Two-tone (W2SA0009). The highest used price in the table, but against Loupe's $13,250 US retail the median keeps only about 70%, while the WSSA0018 keeps about 80% of its $8,650 US retail. It also sells more slowly: Loupe found no sales in the last 30 days, and the two September 2026 auction results were $9,188 and $11,000. If you're buying to wear, a used two-tone is a much better deal than new. If resale matters, steel loses less.

Older generations and the Santos-Dumont. The Santos 100 (made 2004–2018) and the Santos Galbée (1987–2010) still trade in Bangkok. The 5D Watches guide puts them at $3,500–$7,500 and $2,500–$5,500 used. The ranges are wide because each spans several sizes and materials, and condition varies a lot. Radium Watch lists a Santos Galbée Automatic Large 2319 at ฿138,000. The Santos-Dumont is a thin, elongated dress watch with a quartz or hand-wound movement, and its buyers are a different crowd from Santos de Cartier buyers. Thai retail for the Santos-Dumont Large quartz in two-tone, W2SA0046, is ฿240,000. We price these after seeing the watch.

How Santos Prices Moved This Year

The two main sources tell slightly different stories. Loupe has the WSSA0018 market value up 11.8% and the WSSA0029 up 8.5% over the year to 15 October 2026. WatchCharts had the WSSA0018 at $7,194 on 7 August 2026 and $7,053 in October, about 2% lower over two months. Taken together, prices have been flat to rising over the year, with no sign of a sharp fall.

What Raises or Lowers a Santos Resale Price

Thai boutique warranty. Bangkok buyers pay more for a watch bought from a Cartier boutique in Thailand, because it's easy to service locally. Overseas papers still sell, but buyers usually ask for a discount.

Both straps. Cartier sells the WSSA0018 with a steel SmartLink bracelet and a second calfskin strap, both fitted with QuickSwitch. The next buyer expects both. Keep the bracelet links you removed too; a buyer with a larger wrist will need them.

Polishing. The Santos case and bezel mix polished and brushed surfaces, with screw heads set into the bezel. Repeated polishing rounds off the edges and makes the screw heads shallower, and anyone who knows the Santos looks there first. An unpolished watch sells for more.

Box, papers and service history. A watch with its box, warranty card and service receipts sells faster and sits at the top of the table.

Spotting a Fake Santos in Bangkok

The Santos is one of the most faked Cartiers. What Khun Tanapon checks on every one:

  1. Crown. Cartier specifies a seven-sided crown set with a faceted synthetic spinel on the WSSA0018. A different crown shape or a smooth, unfaceted stone is a reason for suspicion.
  2. Caseback. Per Cartier's specification the WSSA0018 has a solid steel caseback. A watch sold as a WSSA0018 with a display caseback is not genuine to that reference.
  3. Bezel screws. They must be real screws set into the bezel, with sharp, clean slots. Screw heads that look stamped, or slots that are shallow and soft, are a warning sign.
  4. QuickSwitch and SmartLink. The strap release must lock firmly with a clear click, and the link buttons must release a link without tools. If either feels loose, sticks, or does nothing when pressed, look harder.
  5. The 1847 MC movement. Because the caseback is solid, you have to open it to be sure. High-grade fakes that look right from the outside usually give themselves away here.
