Patek Philippe has been through major correction in the pre-owned market since 2022. Nautilus 5711/1A is down 47% from peak; Aquanaut 5167A is down 35%. Many investors conclude "Patek's run is over" — a wrong conclusion.
Reality: certain Patek references have passed the hype-cycle peak and continue declining, while references never part of the hype cycle — Calatrava, Annual Calendar, Twenty-4 — retain value well and likely make smarter investments over the next 24 months.

Annual Calendar is Patek complication grade that serious collectors stay loyal to — not a "trophy watch" like Nautilus but a "lifetime piece" worn and passed down. Retains value clearly above Nautilus 5711/1A.

Twenty-4 ladies (round case, post-2018 — not the legacy manchette) is the Patek female collectors stay loyal to. Passes through collector cycles without overheating like Nautilus, so doesn't drag in corrections.

5712 retains value significantly better than 5711 — higher complication grade, less hype-driven demand, lower market supply than Nautilus base model.
2. Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A — -5.7% YoY (vs Nautilus 5711 at -10.6%)

Aquanaut 5167A is "Nautilus without the drama", retains value better than 5711 because:
- No near-term reference replacement: Patek hasn't announced 5167 successor (vs 5711 → 5811)
- Collector demand narrow but deep — Aquanaut buyer base more loyal than Nautilus's broader hype-driven base
- Rubber strap rather than bracelet — pre-owned buyers don't worry about bracelet condition

Calatrava 5227 is "the Patek serious collectors hold 30 years" — dress watch icon with stable collector base unaffected by Instagram hype cycle, no frequent reference replacement, "timeless" design.
Why #1: best Tier-1 Patek value retention in the Thai pre-owned market, controlled Thai supply, demand from long-hold collectors, and no downside risk from reference replacement.
"Caution" References in 2026
Patek Nautilus 5711/1A: correction ongoing, downside open — 5811 at similar price pulls demand away.
Patek Nautilus 5980/1A chronograph: from peak ฿9.5M in 2022 → ฿5.6M in 2026 — sharpest correction in Nautilus family.
Patek Aquanaut 5168G white gold: good price retention (-6% YoY) but Thai supply thin — fine if you can buy well, not ideal if you need fast exit.
Patek Twenty-4 quartz (4910/10A) legacy — pre-2018: market weak. The new 4910/1200A mechanical pulled all serious collector demand away.

4. Case-back screws — Calatrava and Nautilus case-backs use specific screws. Slot position and pattern must match era spec.
5. Dial finishing — Patek dials use vertical satin or horizontal embossing specific to each reference. Compare against Patek.com reference images.
